SEATTLE BATHROOM REMODEL
With some clever space planning, bathrooms become brighter and more functional in this Seattle project, which includes a primary bath, kids bath and powder room.
Design Objectives:
The home only had one full bathroom for an entire family to use. The homeowners wanted to add a new primary bath, remodel the existing bath for the kids, and refresh a powder room on the lower floor.
Design Challenges:
We discussed placing a bathroom in the basement, but decided it wouldn’t function as well as it would on the upper floor near the bedrooms. However, space on that floor was extremely limited.
Also, the homeowner wanted to maintain views of Seattle and natural light coming through the bedroom windows.

Design Solutions:
Using a small covered deck off the primary bedroom, we were able to reclaim enough space for two upstairs bathrooms while preserving the city view.
Special Features:
In the primary bath, windows allow homeowners to enjoy views of Seattle while getting ready for their day. Double pocket doors with clear glass panels allow natural light to flow from the bathroom and into the bedroom.
The primary bath also features a dual vanity and generous walk-in shower.
The kids bath features a tub shower combo with custom tile, and a large vanity with lots of storage for extra towels and other knick knacks.
The powder bath was refreshed with a console sink, hexagonal tile floor, and delicate pendant light for extra sparkle.
