Confined  70s to Open Floor Plan Kitchen

 

Where an addition was initially considered for this traditional mid-century single level ranch-style home, we were able to obtain needed space and desired openness through smart design.

We began by removing walls and opening the kitchen to the dining and living room areas to create a great room concept. With pre-school aged children in the family, the open floor plan allows partial view into the adjoining playroom and provides better family interaction.
Converted from an existing hallway, a new Butler’s pantry provides efficient storage. Carved out of existing space, an attractive powder bath is now easily accessed by family and guests. The cramped laundry room was enlarged and updated with natural flooring.
We updated the front entry and the addition of a French door to the outside deck allows indoor to outdoor living befitting our client’s lifestyle.
