Neil Kelly started in business in 1947 with a $100 investment, working from the basement of his Portland home as a one-man operation. Over decades, he built the business into the region’s largest remodeling firm by doing quality work, respecting his employees and clients, and championing Portland’s neighborhoods and citizens.
President Tom Kelly has always honored these basics, but also enhanced the company’s operation. He has attracted strong colleagues and organized them into unique cross-disciplined teams, broadened Neil Kelly’s palette of services, grown its community involvement, and led a culture based on sustainable business practices.
Neil Kelly Company embraced the principles of The Natural Step in 1997 as a progressive way of approaching daily business that reduces environmental impact and also boosts efficiency.
As one of Portland’s "early adopters" of the Natural Step program, Neil Kelly Co. operates as a sustainable business and urges its many suppliers and subcontractors to adopt a similar business mindset.
